Mark Fleming FIOS
Founder, Owner & Swim England Instructor for Swimming and Physical Education at Seadog Swim School.
I am a young, male, high energy SEQ instructor and a good read of character. I know when to dial it back if the children are overwhelmed, unresponsive, hyperactive or we are learning floating and gliding skills that require calmness.
I am excellent at defining and identifying intrinsic and extrinsic motivation whilst igniting strong desire to learn and overcome fear through a vibrant teaching aesthetic.
I teach a number of neurodivergent children and my skills in communicating are certainly above average but I acknowledge that I still have a good deal to understand.I have been unable to teach some neurodivergent children to swim - so I cannot honestly say I have 100% success rate.
I use SwimPix flashcards, verbal and physical demonstrations as tools to teach learner swimmers. I am not a forceful teacher and I don’t ask the children to do anything they are not comfortable to do voluntarily.
I am a fully accredited and insured swim school operator with 4 years experience as a Royal Lifesaving RLSS lifeguard.
Delivering swimming tuition is my passion and outside of work I enjoy scuba diving, poetry, snorkelling, open water swimming racing, volunteer charity work, learning languages, fitness classes and I have grade 8 qualification in guitar.
